Get ready because this is an emotional one! As natives of southern Louisiana, we were directly affected by Hurricane Katrina and this show brought us right back to that time in our lives. Set just a few months after Katrina, Treme focuses on the local residents in a neighborhood in New Orleans are trying to get their life back together. On today's episode, we both tell our story of how we dealt with the hurricane and all the events leading up to it as well as the aftermath. We both get very emotional during this episode so be prepared!

We're back and we're both incredibly excited for today's episode. Brooklyn Nine-Nine is one of our all-time favorite shows and you can feel love this episode. Not only do we talk about how much we love this show but we share some more work stories, mostly involving dealing with a new boss, Jeff shares a story about having to train a new manager that thought he knew everything about everything, and a time he was sent home by a manager while on break. It's a fun episode so you don't want to miss it!

Friday Mar 14, 2025

Fire burn and cauldron bubble, am I right? That was the spell we conjured to get 2000 downloads! We are traveling back to the 1600s to Salem, Massachusetts where a bunch of zealous white dudes decided that some women were witches and everyone lost their minds. The TV series, Salem, decided to put a supernatural twist on the historical event and we aren't complaining. Along with the pilot, we discuss our favorite folk horrors, why we think everyone is obsessed with the Salem Witch Trials and we take some time to talk about the podcast and our process. It's a fun episode so you don't want to skip this one!

Tuesday Mar 11, 2025

Tuesday Mar 11, 2025

We didn't need another excuse to talk about how much we love Donald Glover but we have one today! Atlanta has gone down as one of the best comedies of the 21st century and is best known for his unique, quirky sense of humor. Along with the pilot, we talk about people we knew that went on to achieve success in the public eye, we talk about the Saints/Falcons rivalry, and Atlanta shares some stories of her travels to Atlanta. Come take a listen!

Friday Mar 07, 2025

Picture it: you've been in prison for 25 years. You finally get out and you find out you're being relocated from New York City to Tulsa! Would you be excited? I think we would be! We're definitely excited for today's episode where we watched and discuss a pilot neither one of us had ever seen, Tulsa King. Dwight Manfredi, played by the legendary Sylvester Stallone, is a fish out of water as he tries to set up a new life in the American Midwest. Along with the pilot we discuss our favorite gangster/mafia movies and TV shows as well as sharing stories about meeting/dating people who weren't what they seemed. Come take a listen!

Ep. 76 - Ozark

Tuesday Mar 04, 2025

Tuesday Mar 04, 2025

We're starting March off with a show that we both love and a show that stresses us both out. When Ozark premiered on Netflix, it was unlike any other show that was on at the time and that's what kept us watching. As one of the most watched series on Netflix, Ozark has remained in the zeitgeist as one of the best TV dramas of the 21st century. Along with the pilot, we talk about family vacations, places we'd relocate to, and of course, Jeff tells another story where he got in trouble on a family trip. Come take a listen!

Ep. 75 - Firefly

Thursday Feb 27, 2025

Thursday Feb 27, 2025

Can you believe February is already over? We had this a blast this month. We're closing out Short Lived TV Show Month with one of the most popular and beloved one season shows of all time... Firefly. A show neither one of us had ever seen and only one of us had ever heard of it. Set 500 years in the future, we follow a rag tag group of rebels traveling through space trying to make money and dodge the law. Along with the pilot, we talk about some of our other favorite short-lived shows that didn't make the cut, our dream jobs, and what you can expect in March! Come take a listen!

Ep. 74 - Higher Ground

Tuesday Feb 25, 2025

Tuesday Feb 25, 2025

Continuing our month of short-lived shows, we have another gem from Jeff's youth that he couldn't wait to share with everyone. Jeff first watched this show when he was 15 and full of teen angst which made him a perfect fit for this millennial teen drama, Higher Ground. Originally airing back in 2000, the show delves into the troubled lives of a group of teens at a "rehab high school". Perhaps best known for starring a pre-Anakin Hayden Christensen and a pre-FBI agent A.J. Cook, Higher Ground tackled subjects that other high school schools were too afraid of and showed the dark side of being a teenager. Along with the pilot, Jeff talks about his history with this show and we both tell stories of times we got lost.

Ep. 73 - Rags to Riches

Friday Feb 21, 2025

Friday Feb 21, 2025

Definitely one of our lesser known shows, Rags to Riches was a short-lived series that introduced many of us to the "jukebox musical". Launching the careers of future TV stars such as Tisha Campbell and Heather McAdam, Rags to Riches is an underrated gem chock-full of charm and feel good vibes. We discuss the pilot but Jeff dives in on his history with this show, how it followed him around throughout his youth, we also continue our discussion of our favorite musicals, overrated musicals, and ones we haven't seen but want to. Come take a listen!

Ep. 72 - The Get Down

Friday Feb 14, 2025

Friday Feb 14, 2025

We are celebrating love and music today with a short-lived show that made a big impact on both of us! The Get Down has become a modern-day cult classic and we understand why. Set in the South Bronx in the late 70's, the show's set design, costumes, great cast, great writing, and of course, great music had us hooked! We kept things pretty light this episode but we had a blast talking about our love of disco, hip hop, and punk rock. We talk about our favorite soundtracks of all time and Jeff tells a little story about how he went out of his way to impress a girl. Come take a listen!
