Ep. 97 - Arcane

It's 2 for Tuesday! Our first episode of the day centers around one of Netflix's most popular and beloved original series, Arcane. The series revolves around two young sisters who find themselves in the middle of a civil war between the privileged people of Piltover and the underground city of Zaun. Along with the pilot, we will be discussing some of our favorite movies and TV shows about sisters, some of our favorite sisters in fiction, and some of our favorite "music moments" from TV shows. Ep. 96 - Attack on Titan

We're continuing Adult Animation Month with another classic anime, Attack on Titan! Set in a post-apocalyptic future where humans hide behind giant walled cities in order to keep out Titans, giant humanoid creatures that feed on humans. When the city walls are breached by a Titan, our protagonist Eren and his friends Mikasa and Armin make a decision to either fight or hide. On today's episode, we discuss what we thought about the pilot, our favorite post-apocalyptic movies/shows, and whether or not you can relate to something so out of the ordinary. Enjoy!

Ep. 95 - BoJack Horseman

We're continuing Adult Animation month with a show neither one of us has ever seen. We are dropped into the life of former 90s sitcom star, BoJack Horseman, as he desperately attempts to become relevant again. We both feel as if this is a special era in the entertainment industry where actors are having major comebacks, winning or being nominated for awards, and reminding everyone that just because you're not getting roles doesn't mean you aren't talented. We discuss everyone from Demi Moore to Ke Huy Quan to Brendan Fraser plus many more (and also Mandy Moore). Since this revolves around a former 90s sitcom star, we felt obligated to revisit our favorite sitcoms and we have a talk about staying relevant in an over-saturated industry. Enjoy!

Ep. 94 - South Park

It's hard to imagine anyone who's never heard of South Park. It was a show that stepped over every line, crossed every boundary, and showed us that no one is safe from being a punchline. On today's episode, we went back to 1997 with some of the worst animation ever, and watched the pilot episode which focused on aliens invading South Park. Along with the pilot we discuss our history with this show, whether or not we believe in aliens, but our biggest topic is a question we ask ourselves which is: is South Park's brand of humor acceptable or are there lines that should never be crossed? 

Ep. 93 - Bob's Burgers

What's your favorite burger? That's a question we spend a long time answering on this episode. Luckily it fits with the show's pilot we're judging today and that's Bob's Burgers. One of the most charming, funniest animated series we've ever watched, Bob's Burgers is a favorite in our house and we had a blast talking about it. Along with the pilot, we (more or less) rank our favorite fast food burgers, other favorite restaurant burgers, and in the spirit of Bob's Burgers, we created our own specialty burger. Plus we talk about how much we love this show and some of our favorite characters/moments from the show. Be sure to tune in to this one! 

Ep. 92 - Death Note

We're so back and ready to continue Adult Animation Month. On today's episode, we discuss the pilot for an anime which is also considered to be one of the greatest TV series of all time... Death Note. A franchise that has spawned several live-action movies, a live-action TV show, videos games, novels, and even a musical, Death Note has made its mark in TV history. Even if you don't like anime, you'll like Death Note. A series that focuses on the moral dilemma of vigilante justice, we discuss (along with the pilot) our take on this particular topic. Enjoy!

Ep. 91 - The Simpsons

Can you believe it's already May?! We are steadily approaching our 100th episode and 1 year anniversary! We are kicking off Adult Animation Month with a show that wasn't the first primetime animated show but it was the show that brought it into the mainstream, The Simpsons. It's hard to believe that this show was a spin-off from The Tracey Ullman Show. Although not originally intended to be the show's pilot, this episode served as a Christmas Special so along with the pilot, we discuss memorable Christmases we had as well as our history with The Simpsons. Enjoy!

Ep. 90 - And Just Like That

And just like that, Anna Month has come to an end! On today's episode we are discussing the pilot for the Sex & the City revival entitled: And Just Like That. We go on a few rants this episode ranging from comparing the two shows, comparing the two pilots, and of course talking about how we feel the character evolved (or devolved). We also discuss our friend groups over the years and the importance of maintaining friendships or being mature enough to let one go. We also we'll be letting everyone know what our theme for May will be! Enjoy! 

Ep. 89 - The Handmaid's Tale

We get a little serious today as we talk about what's going in our country right now while judging the pilot for The Handmaid's Tale. A dystopian drama that pushes boundaries and forces us to rethink what humans are capable of. It's hard not to parallel this show to what is happening in the US right now. Hope everyone enjoys it. 

Ep. 88 - Desperate Housewives

Anna's birthday might be over but we're celebrating Anna Month and today's episode represents the era in her life where she first became a homeowner and was living in the suburbs of Seattle. Today's show, Desperate Housewives, was once the #1 scripted series on TV and everyone wanted to know what was happening on Wisteria Lane. Along with the pilot, Anna talks about her days of being a homeowner in the suburbs and all the drama that came with it, we briefly talk about the neighborhood we live in now, and Jeff goes on a little rant about how podcasting is portrayed in TV and movies. It's a fun episode so you don't want to miss it.
