Ep. 85 - Girls

Sorry for the delay. We were without Wi-Fi for a few days but we are so back! We're continuing Anna Month with one of the more polarizing shows we've done. We've entered the post-grad era of Anna's life when she was figuring out what she wanted to do with her life and that's exactly where Girls begins. The main character, Hannah, has been cut off by her parents and now has to figure out how to support herself. On today's episode, we discuss millennial culture and if Girls is an accurate portrayal of it and Anna talks about her time post-college. Come take a listen!

Ep. 83 - The Mary Tyler Moore Show

It was one of the most influential TV shows of all time. It launched the careers of several icons including Cloris Leachman and Betty White. It changed the face of TV as we know it... it's The Mary Tyler Moore Show. A show that inspired Anna to become the person she is today. You could say Anna became Mary Richards. Along with the pilot, Anna talks about how this show inspired her and we talk about the first time we were officially on our own. We had fun on this one and so come take a listen!

Ep. 82 - Sisters

We are so back and that's no joke! Today, we are kicking off Anna Month with an underrated 90's family drama, Sisters. Sisters was a series that centered around the lives of 4 very different, but very close sisters. Having sisters of our own, we have plenty of stories but we also talk about our sibling dynamic (along with the pilot, of course). Hope you enjoy!

Ep. 81 - Treme

Get ready because this is an emotional one! As natives of southern Louisiana, we were directly affected by Hurricane Katrina and this show brought us right back to that time in our lives. Set just a few months after Katrina, Treme focuses on the local residents in a neighborhood in New Orleans are trying to get their life back together. On today's episode, we both tell our story of how we dealt with the hurricane and all the events leading up to it as well as the aftermath. We both get very emotional during this episode so be prepared! 

Ep. 80 - Brooklyn Nine-Nine

We're back and we're both incredibly excited for today's episode. Brooklyn Nine-Nine is one of our all-time favorite shows and you can feel love this episode. Not only do we talk about how much we love this show but we share some more work stories, mostly involving dealing with a new boss, Jeff shares a story about having to train a new manager that thought he knew everything about everything, and a time he was sent home by a manager while on break. It's a fun episode so you don't want to miss it!

Ep. 79 - Salem

Fire burn and cauldron bubble, am I right? That was the spell we conjured to get 2000 downloads! We are traveling back to the 1600s to Salem, Massachusetts where a bunch of zealous white dudes decided that some women were witches and everyone lost their minds. The TV series, Salem, decided to put a supernatural twist on the historical event and we aren't complaining. Along with the pilot, we discuss our favorite folk horrors, why we think everyone is obsessed with the Salem Witch Trials and we take some time to talk about the podcast and our process. It's a fun episode so you don't want to skip this one! 

Ep. 78 - Atlanta

We didn't need another excuse to talk about how much we love Donald Glover but we have one today! Atlanta has gone down as one of the best comedies of the 21st century and is best known for his unique, quirky sense of humor. Along with the pilot, we talk about people we knew that went on to achieve success in the public eye, we talk about the Saints/Falcons rivalry, and Atlanta shares some stories of her travels to Atlanta. Ep. 77 - Tulsa King

Picture it: you've been in prison for 25 years. You finally get out and you find out you're being relocated from New York City to Tulsa! Would you be excited? I think we would be! We're definitely excited for today's episode where we watched and discuss a pilot neither one of us had ever seen, Tulsa King. Dwight Manfredi, played by the legendary Sylvester Stallone, is a fish out of water as he tries to set up a new life in the American Midwest. Along with the pilot we discuss our favorite gangster/mafia movies and TV shows as well as sharing stories about meeting/dating people who weren't what they seemed. Come take a listen! 

Ep. 76 - Ozark

We're starting March off with a show that we both love and a show that stresses us both out. When Ozark premiered on Netflix, it was unlike any other show that was on at the time and that's what kept us watching. As one of the most watched series on Netflix, Ozark has remained in the zeitgeist as one of the best TV dramas of the 21st century. Along with the pilot, we talk about family vacations, places we'd relocate to, and of course, Jeff tells another story where he got in trouble on a family trip. Come take a listen!
